The state of NY through the AG is suing him for $2.8MM, arguing that he has been using it for his own purposes (shocker). With the charity shut down, he will no longer be able to enrich himself with charitable funds, which will decrease his bottom line...

What purposes were illegitimate? What amounts of money are we talking about? Let’s calculate the deduction advantage and run the numbers. It’s a math problem. I’ll anxiously await your input.

It's not a math problem yet--we don't know how much he was taking off the top yet (though the AG has a good idea after a several-year-long investigation, hence the lawsuit). There are also areas which are harder to quantify impact, but nevertheless will def. impact him--the fact that the charity is shut down (and the AG is shooting for precluding Trump and his family from being on other boards) will invariably hurt his ability to curry political favors as well.

We'll ultimately have to wait and see, but pretending this is a good thing for Trump is just comedy in its purest form--like everything else that seems to spill out daily, this is one cut of a thousand that will ultimately fell him and his family.
