Completely incorrect. They could turn a profit simply by eliminating weekend deliveries.

Louis DeJoy has nothing to do with how awful the USPS is and has been for my entire life.

According to my postmaster, one of the few USPS employees that seem to give a shite, DeJoy has been a disaster.

I'm sure he thinks so, but that's because DeJoy is an easy scapegoat. USPS has been a disaster for decades. It isn't worse than it was before DeJoy.

Incorrect.

Not to mention there are probably thousands of low traffic post offices that are forced to stay open to serve nearby minorities.

But tell me how Fedex does it.

Nope, I'm correct. I'd also be fine with shuttering low traffic post offices, but simply eliminating weekend deliveries would do the trick.

Yes, I'm sure he has no idea what he is talking about.

Something that is bad can be made worse you know. Like outbound mail not being picked up until the following day, which happened here. Added a day to all outbound mail and next day is not really available even though they will still charge you for it.

Incorrect not to mention Post Offices barely have enough space for missing one day- a holiday. Two? Newer and bigger buildings must be built.

It was a yes or no question. But I’m intelligent enough to translate it to ‘no’. It’s clear you don’t understand the basics enough to continue an attempt to discuss it.

Have wondered for decades why this PO is still there. It's around 6 miles from a larger PO in a town of several thousand.

It isn't there for minorities.

I dont care where anyone gets laid off. You want to distinguish untangible differences to hide your guilt from cheering on an increase in the unemployment rate.

The difference between private and public employment is definitely tangible lmao. You don’t even understand something that simple

The Post Office at Fort McClellan (Katt Williams venture) Alabama was bought by the PO for 1 dollar (donated) and will probably stay up for that reason alone

May be a similar story.

Set up a Straw man argument that has not one damn thing to do with the subject at hand, just to change the subject so you never have to face the fact that you are wrong, typical behavior of children and and useful idiots.

Great strategy considering Trump installed Louis DeJoy to dismantle USPS.

Step 1: appoint a clown to run a department/agency into the ground.

Step 2: once it is completely incompetent, blame them and dissolve the agency into the administration.

Step 3: Rinse, and repeat.

USPS' incompetence predates Donald Trump by a very wide margin.

The Post Office made 144 million in net income for the first quarter of 2025.

Total GAAP expenses dropped 5.7%

People complain about rising stamps (USPS is self-funded) but also complain about USPS losing money.

Yall bitch just to bitch.

The Post Office's biggest problem that affected USPS's bottom line for decades was always the Congressional Mandated Prefunded Retirement which made retirements whole decades in advance but Biden took care of that problem in 2022.

USPS reports $9.5B net loss in FY 2024, does not expect to hit ‘break even’ goal next year

quote:
The Postal Service is reporting a deeper financial loss than it’s seen in recent years, and is calling on Congress and the incoming Trump administration to address rising costs that are beyond its control.

USPS reported a $9.5 billion net loss for fiscal 2024, despite year-over-year growth in revenue and a reduction in its controllable expenses. The agency saw a $6.5 billion loss in FY 2023.

That's like saying the military is losing money. It's a service with benefits. Why would you expect the USPS to make money?
