The only place that has reported anything like this is an Israel press outlet who said they’re “detecting” a force build up to support the marines on the MEU either by taking Kharg so the marines don’t have to or that making locking down the straight faster.

The Reuters people are pulling from the same Israel media reporting I mentioned above. That’s the source any of them that put this out are running with
It talks about how we are going to lock down the straight using the marines and 20 combat aircraft on the MEU, aircraft from the carriers, and support from Israel like intelligence and drone cover.
If it is accurate and they’re massing a force to support them I’d imagine it’s to take Kharg island so the marines can focus on what they do best and clear out the ones near the coast of the straight
