Trump and the media

I wonder if I can get some bipartisan agreement that one good thing that The Don has accomplished is increased scrutiny of the biased media - be it CNN, MSNBC, or FOX.
IMO there is very little objectivity in modern day journalism. I suppose one could say, "Mr. Blob Fish, bias in the media is nothing new."
I guess that's true, but I think that now in the age of the 24 hr news cycle and online click bait, it is worse than it has every been before.
News organizations aren't interested in the truth; they are interested in controversy and clicks and their agenda. Just look at all these talking heads/C-student journalism majors who are always spouting off their "expert" opinions (as if they are somehow better informed and clearer in thought) and pushing their most recent unoriginal, bullshite novels. And then, in the case of FOX, sending dick pics to interns.
Thanks to the current Prez more people are woke (as the cool kids are saying these days) and questioning where they get their information, which I think is a good thing.
But how can we go further? How can we punish news organizations like CNN and FOX who intentionally deceive?
I, for one, am tired of forwarding articles to people, only to find out 2 hours later that the "journalist" didn't actually verify his/her sources and that the story is a complete fabrication.

It's not going to happen.
We don't seek information. We seek confirmation. And as long as we continue to only seek the media that confirms our already held beliefs, the media will continue to feed that to us, no matter how many facts they have to twist.
It's best to view the current MSM as entertainment.

You could have just stopped there and answered yourself with a "No". You couldn't get bipartisan agreement that the Earth is round.

People watch the news they watch to reaffirm their own opinions. If you're liberal you watch liberal news and enforce liberal ideas. Conservatives do the same by staying with their media outlets. It's just an echo chamber.

Mass media journalism is dead.

This isn't some modern day phenomenon. As long as there has been journalist there has been bias.
