Lack of support. Pretty simple

That's what I thought, too.

But it's not.

What happened to independent thought?

Nothing, but what independent thoughts do you have that neither party proposes regarding abortion?

See...that's where people don't get it. You can be against both abortion and Tariffs.

Here are my takes:

quote:

Taxes?

Flat federal income tax and federal consumption/sales tax.

quote:

Tariffs?

Tariffs go against the concept of a free market. They punish the consumer, rather than the supplier.

quote:

Foreign policy?

Foreign policy is good...I mean...really...that is a very broad subject. Split up the parts of Foreign Policy into the constituents, because painting things with a broad brush is the problem with most modern politics.

quote:

Spending?

The goal should be a balanced budget. That means making choices that neither side likes. If you want to increase spending, you have to increase revenue.

quote:

Entitlements?

I believe that there is a balance where both fiscal responsibility and targeted aid can be reached. I believe that if you have cancer from agent orange exposure, you should receive medical benefits for treatment and care through an effectively run Veterans Administration. I also believe that entitlements can create dependency, but again...you can't paint with a broad brush and say that all Government aid is evil (see VA example above).

quote:

What independent thoughts are you having about those things that neither party is proposing?

Again...it isn't thoughts that NEITHER party is proposing...it is that there are some areas where I believe one party has a better approach, and there are some areas where I believe the other party may have a better one. I don't sell my soul to a party. I have the freedom to vote for the candidates that show they have a plan that best aligns with what I support. I know good and well that there won't be ANY candidate that agrees with everything that I support.

In a perfect world, they would eliminate the party designation in the voting booths and people would have to vote for the individuals after actually finding out more about their plans and their character.

Independents are either Democratic cowards who want to hide their beliefs or are flakes whose beliefs change everyday based upon polls or feelings.

It's in the text you quoted. Taken straight from the answer the other guy gave that you claimed to know all about, but just weren't good at explaining.

Ok, so clarify what you think:

the media
the parties
the Constitution
The state laws

Thanks, someone else already actually answered the question instead of just saying, "It's a system because it's a system."

From the person whose point was “The people have more than 2 Choices so it’s not a 2 party system”

Thanks for (finally) answering the question. As it was a sincere question and not an argument, there was no need to be an a-hole about it, but I do appreciate you answering it instead of the repeating nonsense I was getting before you did.
Apologies for being an a-hole. I was a few beers in.

This, or a 3rd option:

Libertarian minded people who will sacrifice everything for their principles/constituation.
