Maybe, but I'm most concerned about the far-left's policies, and I really don't think they'll be able to get those through very easily with Biden, especially compared to if Bernie was in charge.
Doesn't Harris have the most Leftist voting record in the Senate? Biden isn't long for this world.

remember there were a lot of repubs very energized to vote Obama out but not really energized about Romney.....how'd that go? Obviously very different situations, but I think a base energized about their candidate has a huge edge over a base that doesn't like the other guy
I don't think its different at all. That's the first comparison that cones to mind.

Sure it was a mess, but they didn't really need to use any "equity," as they didn't need any with that amount of power to push things through, especially since what they were pushing through as at least a broad policy (healthcare reform) wasn't really viewed too unfavorably until it finally got put into action quite a while later.
That’s just silly man, and absolute revisionist history. The idea of healthcare reform is of course favorable because a person being asked about it imagines all the problems being solved without cost. The reality of healthcare reform is always unfavorable because there’s always a dramatic cost.
Radical legislation is going to have political backlash, and this played out exactly that way. When people saw the cost, they hated it; but it was a long term strategic step for the progressives and they used the political capital they got from anti-bush sentiment, Obama popularity, and the recession to take that step.
They chose that step over immigration which was very much on the table at that time.

They clearly used up political equity. The ACA boondoggle catapulted GOP to a House majority.
