Hell no.

Preponderence of the evidence is the standard, not "any chance".

All you have is a pen and paper to take notes. That ain't good enough when you have hours of conflicting testimony and a short time to decide.

So vote no then if youre not conviced of the evidentiary standard.

I don't think indictments should be up to lay people. Convictions, yes, but not indictments.
this is true except the alternative is worse. I was on a grand jury. I learned that people can't be trusted at all with these decisions. People inherently think almost everyone is guilty, especially when the accused is a man. The main exception is self-defense.

there are a lot of good comments in this thread. I have and will continue to vote no guilty/no vote bc the system is so rigged. Judges dont care about constitutional rights, and they are on the prosecutor's side

Grand juries are a flipping joke. If a prosecutor cannot get an indictment from a grand jury then he sure as hell could not get a guilty verdict in a court of law.

This post of yours was great work.

Edit: Even if the Rockford clip was in mirror image.

A grand jury indictment just means they can move forward with a real trial.

Stop whining.

As someone who has been in grand juries in a prosectural role, it’s just a a PC finding. It’s not designed to litigate the whole case. And I say that as a defense attorney now

Exact opposite.
In the Grand Jury there is no defense case at all.
The prosecutor's one-sided case should be pretty compelling or no indictment.

It's a citizen's responsability to serve on a jury if called. I served on a GJ while I had a fever because I saw plenty of people that squirmed out of it.

It sounds like you would prefer to live in a more authoritarian state like China.

Wut, We have faith in Mueller for doing the right thing. If anything left leaning people feel like the legal system in this country is a joke. A big left leaning policy/idea is prison and criminal justice reform. You just say whatever you want to make yourself feel better, dont you?

The decision to indict can get really complex

Then everyone should sit there and ask questions until it's not complex anymore......see how easy that was.

Think about how stupid 12 average Americans who can't get out of jury duty are.
Umm...I don’t know where you live but where I am it is nearly impossible to get excused for some lame reason. And don’t give me that old crap “I’ll just say I already think he is guilty” or “I hate —————-(ethnicity,etc).

Getting challenged for cause is hard; getting peremptorily challenged is mind numbingly easy.
