Too many people think Freedom comes free of inconvenience

Clearly we need to reign in the overburdensome, bloated, inefficient government.
But unfortunately, to function as a society we need SOME government. And with that comes the hassle bureaucracy.
I see too many simplistic views here that freedom should come completely free of inconvenience.

I also see too many people hyperbolically acting like small government should = NO government. All in the name of some kind of internet gotcha.

Freedom comes with tradeoffs too, but y'all dont seem to think about that.

Please point out all the "no govt" folks out there. Probably pretty hard to do. What isnt hard to do is to find people who hyperventilate at reducing the bureaucracy by even 5%, when we could actually reduce it by much more with zero real world impact to taxpayers.

There is no such thing as perfect freedom. Something is always going to restrict you, be it government, society, economy, etc. All you can do is to mitigate those factors the best you can.

Limited govt is what "we" used to want. Thats no longer the case here at all.
I;ll take dangerous freedom any day to govt "protections."

I'll take the most we can allow. I've got guns to keep myself safe, dont need the federal govt.

Civilization requires some trade offs that include some freedoms.
We don't have the freedom to drive on the sidewalk to get around traffic. We don't have the freedom to steal from our neighbors, etc., etc.
Without civilization it's the law of the jungle and the only free people are the strongest warlords.
It's all a delicate balance.

Your rights end where mine begin. And vice versa.

So you think its perfectly fine for LE to stop you on the street and demand your "papers" when no crime has been suspected or committed by you? Is that just an inconvenience to you?
