Just ban the legal institution of marriage as a whole. Th government shouldn't be involved in it anyway. Let it be a religious bond.

I’m fine with overturning gay marriage as long as straight people are willing to recodify the tax and estate codes to remove all benefits for married couples and tax credits for couples with children.

Equality is equality. We should be taxed as individuals. Your tax burden should be the same whether you have a child or not. Whether you are married or not.

No more automatic passing down of wealth and property without proper legal incorporation and a legitimate last will and testament.

It is none of the government’s business what two consenting adults try to do.

We are not a theocracy. Christian arguments in favor of 2 person heterosexual marriage can be argued in appropriate public forums. But many of these same Christians who make these arguments revere many Biblical figures who had polygamous marriages and extramarital affairs: Abraham, David, Solomon.

Said argumentation also ignores that Jesus himself did not marry; therefore, to follow his example directly in ministry would require staying single. The Protestant church abandoned this practice starting with the Reformation. And Paul advocates in 1 Corinthians that it is better to remain single than marry; that marriage exists as a vehicle to curb sexual appetite if it cannot be managed/overcome.

I dont agree with this.

It is only their use of the term marriage that I oppose.

IMO the State should get out of the marriage business.

If freaks want to do unnatural things with each other as long as they are consenting adults I could not care less.

Gay marriage was never approved, they pointed out you cannot deny rights from one state to another so if one states approves same sex marriage its not illegal in other states. It wasnt pushed but the same could be said for gun rights from one state to another.

Same can’t be said for Gun rights. The right to keep and bear arms is a federal right guaranteed to all Americans. All state gun laws are illegal!

Most of the people who founded this country did. This country came into being as "one nation, under God." One of the major reasons we have America was because of the British government persecuting people for their religious beliefs. You have a right to have zero religious beliefs if you want, but what the Bible says, was and is, integral to all those rights we have that the Constitution says the government is not allowed to infringe (probably a serious run on sentence there).

Actually, the right to keep and bear arms is not a Federal right and the Constitution doesn't give us that right. It is our God-given right and the Constitution prohibits the government from infringing upon it.

From the pledge of allegiance which was written 100 years after the nation was founded.

The founding fathers said stuff like:

“ We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

And

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

I understand.....what I was saying was one state cannot have laws against carry while another state does allow. Your rights go across state lines....

A major misconception. A couple of the comparatively-minor colonies (mostly in New England) were formed by religious minorities, but the important colonies (Virginia, New York, etc) were founded by people looking to make money.

Then it is also time to wipe DOMA off the books completely. DOMA was the reason for Obergefell because it incorporated marriage and what constitutes it on a federal level whereas prior to there was nothing to it. It was a matter left unto the states.

Once you put something in the federal purview the federal courts get hold of it. J It's one of the reasons why I don't want federal education funds used for vouchers on private and religious backed schools. You insert federal monies, it invites federal strings and then regulation and then lawsuits and interference by Congress.

I don’t. Idc if they marry and go against God. The gov shouldn’t be able to tell you to pay for something you don’t condone, to marry/not marry whom you love of legal age and same species, and whether or not you can carry or possess a firearm(s) for protection outside your domicile
