I hear ya. I'm just saying you shouldn't feel guilty for temporarily accepting UE benefits. Your employer pays for UE insurance and as a result has less money to pay you. I've been fortunate to only have to file for UE once in my life and only utilized about 3 weeks worth before returning to work. I didn't "need" it but I didn't know that at the time. It could have taken longer for me to find a job in my field.

They aren't complaining about money.
I may not be following your point here. Are you suggesting that they don't want to make more money?
Obviously, my argument is the open border/30 million illegals - it's a wealth transfer program from the American working class to others, because I'm willing to bet these guys would like to make more money.

I'm saying it's a non issue as far as they are concerned. They built their own market and disregarded the competition . They work their asses off from Late March until about Thanksgiving. Then they do exclusively handyman work for their landlord customers. Both guys had ME degrees and got laid off during Covid. They make as much ....or more now than they did as ME's

So they really wouldn't want to make more money without more effort, or a lot more money with more effort?
I don't know these people so I can't say you're wrong, but I can say that very close to 100% of small business owners would like less competition and to make more money.

I have been detailing everyone’s car that will let me as well. I am absolutely not saying there is no work to be had. I am saying it is difficult to procure it, at least it has been for me. Like anything else in life, catching the right breaks certainly helps.
The lawn care/landscape maintenance business is unbelievably hard to get for me. Its strange, no one seems all that satisfied with their current service, but they act like if they try using me, it will put their current lawn man in the poor house. I even tried offering around 50 people in my neighborhood an initial free cut and they could decide if they wanted to continue using me for $10 less per cut than what they currently pay. No takers. Unbelievable.

It's something that is a non issue. They found a niche that works well for them. They don't complain and apparently neither do their customers. They have plenty of business and they grew it from literally nothing. One of them had a power washer, the other had some power tools and they built a huge watertank on a used trailer.
