Economy and Immigration.
Trump should stay laser focused on both.

Over the weekend I was listening to a conservative radio channel. They cited a poll in which Trump was up 48% to 45%. Same poll asked if they were in support of open borders. 75% were against open borders. They then asked if they thought Harris was in favor of open borders. Again, 75% agreed the Harris is in favor of open borders. Yet 45% would vote for her. The issues do not matter . People will, indeed, vote against what is in their best interest.

1929- Crash, Great Depression. Hoover, Republican, loses in 32, FDR, Democrat takes over
1987 - Black Monday - Bush, Republican wins in 1988, parties don't change power in Presidential Election
Early 90s major recession - Bush loses in 92, Democrats gain Presidency
2000 Dotcom Bubble Burst - W wins, Republicans take over from Democrats
2008 Crash - Obama wins, takes over from Republicans
2015 Market Selloff - Trump wins in 2016, takes over from Democrats (this one may be a stretch, the market had recovered by the time of the election)
2020 Covid decline - Biden "wins", Democrats take over
I'm sure I am missing some, but those seem like the major ones I know of off the top. In every case but 1, the Presidency switched parties in the next election.

And himself.

The only semi legitimate election Trump has been a part of was 2016, since then it's been Trump against the Anti Trump Consortium.
