This is your problem with understanding my point of view. The left is bad. But the boogie man is the Washington uniparty. And I’m not convinced yet that Ron isn’t part of the club.

But I still don’t think Ron understands the MAGA movement at all. He like the rest of the political class give zero fricks about us every day people and gets frustrated when we don’t fall in line with what he is saying

Desantis, who grew up middle class and voluntarily served his country as a JAG on multiple tours in the Middle East when he could've joined the private sector and made tons more money, doesn't understand the movement consisting of everyday people wanting to make the middle class Americas great again?

But Trump, who grew up with rich parents and a silver spoon in his mouth, that is a billionaire Wall Street real estate business tycoon from New York, does?

You realize how ridiculous this sounds, right?

I can tell you why. You can’t admit it to yourself yet. But you’re not convinced Ron isn’t part of the club because he’s not Trump. That’s it. Nothing else.

You’re a personality-based voter for the foreseeable future. So DeSantis, despite your protestations, understands you better than you understand yourself.

Well let’s look at the FACTs.

One was a creation and result of said movement. Received 74,000,000 votes.

One is polling 3rd and slipping in a campaign that has a big part of voters who would identify as MAGA supporters.

I think the facts speak for themselves.

Because just like their Lord and Savior, Trumplicrats don’t stand for anything except for shouting down the rest of the room.

So my vote being personality based make me listless? That’s a bit of an extreme jump. I didn’t know personality was in the definition anywhere.

He seems frustrated he can’t reach people like me. And the reality is he doesn’t understand what made trump so appealing in 2016. Until he figure that out he is doomed to fail.

DeSantis was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus and was known to not do the dinner circuit bullshite while in DC.

Desantis was 36 when Trump came on the political scene, and was 37 when Trump was elected. He voted for Trump.

He understands exactly what it is that the MAGA movement was SUPPOSED to mean and stand for, what it was supposed to accomplish. He IS the average Trump voter if he weren't the governor of Florida. A middle class man that grew up with middle class blue collar parents, that also served our country. A family man with a wife and kids to provide for.

In any other instance where Trump isn't around to be offended by someone simply challenging his ego - and thus tell his followers to be offended as well - Desantis would be the welcome hero the conservatives needed against the current Dems and progressives. His accomplishments speak for themselves and he's turned Florida bright red, while enticing the most people to move TO Florida in it's history.

The only reason he's considered an enemy to the conservative, MAGA movement - the ONLY reason - is because Trump felt threatened. There is no logical other reason.

Or the simple question “why now”. Why didn’t he wait 4 more years. He is young enough. Why take the political risk and chance of political suicide? The question is a reasonable question and adds doubt to anything he does in the this election cycle.

He's explained why numerous times, if you'd care to actually listen.

He's been asked that exact question on multiple occasions and has great reasoning.

I think you're maybe someone that's open to listening and engaging instead of name calling, so I'll see if I can find a succinct clip to link

I’d think it probably should be something easier to identify and articulate than this.

There’s risk in waiting. As much risk as in running against Trump. You’re looking at everything through the lens of Trump. And that’s not real life.

I disagree complete. What risk in waiting? He would be the nominee with Trump support. He would walk into the nomination. It would be decided before votes were cast.

There’s been dozens of sure fire next candidates who never even made it to the starting line. You probably were paying as much attention then as you are now.

And here’s another very likely possibility. Trump loses the general in 2024 and decides to run again in 2028. And you would be telling DeSantis to wait until 2032.
