Trump can say I offered it, the dems rejected it. Now I am going to do something about it once and for all because politicians can only create problems not fix them.

either way this will "pretty much" end immigration as a campaign slogan or political talking point on both sides.
trump is in this to "solve" the problem, not just allow it to continue on to be brought up the next time elections get near.
same thing with Palestinians and Israel, its about fixing the problem permanently and not negotiating a cease fire.
