Gary Sinise Goes off on Teacher's Anti-Military Rant as an 'Outrageous Insult to All Who Have Served'
Thanks, Gary, for bring light to this garbage teacher's antics.
As for Gary himself,
quote:
El Rancho High School teacher Gregory Salcido's anti-military rant has left the family of student Victor Quinonez calling for his license to be revoked and drew ire from viewers.
Among the people who were upset at the California teacher's comments, which included calling service members “the lowest of our low” and likening military recruiters to pimps, was actor Gary Sinise.
quote:Here's the POS teacher's rant. California Teacher Likens Military Recruiters to Pimps, Tells Student Not to Bring Military Into Class. This was taken by a student in his class.
After viewing the video, he tweeted that there is “such stupidity and ignorance” in questioning the intelligence of service members.
Sinise added that Salcido's comments are “an outrageous insult” to everyone who has served, which includes former U.S. presidents.
He also revealed that as the moments drew on, he felt “more outraged” and acknowledged that the teacher is entitled to his own opinion. Why? Because our freedom of expression as citizens is “preserved” by the people he disparaged.
Thanks, Gary, for bring light to this garbage teacher's antics.
As for Gary himself,
quote:
When he’s not in front of the cameras, Sinise dedicates much of his time to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which has created and supported programs to honor and help veterans of the military.
Sinise’s commitment goes back to his early days at Steppenwolf, where he sought out the play “Tracers,” written by Vietnam vets, and began The Veterans’ Night Preview Series, which is active to this day and has now expanded to include other theaters including Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse. Sinise says it’s important for theater communities to interact with their local veterans. “It’s a great intersection of two things that are important to me,” he notes. “The entertainment part of my life — my career as an actor — and the veteran support part.”

Met him a couple of years ago when he was here doing something for the Coast Guard. He's the real deal

Would like for him to receive a civilian service medal.

I am a big fan of anyone that supports our veterans. If you cannot support the men and women that keep us all safe, you might as well get out of this country. You can argue about the policy our elected officials determine to follow all you want, but not the fine men and women that serve. If you can’t figure this out then you don’t deserve to vote or live here. It is they that allow these debates to be undertaken. God bless them all!

They're not pimps, but they are used car salesmen

Steppenwolf is the name of the theater he helped start in Chicago. It's responsible for launching the careers of John Malkovich, Joan Allen, Gary Cole, Laurie Metcalf, and Tracy Meets just to name a few.

It's fitting that he provides the voice over for the University of Alabama's ad campaign for the past year.
