I support these protesters.
Call them and me racist, alt-right, white nationalist, white supremacist. Don't give a damn anymore.
Those are regular white folks that aint gonna put up with the bs.
This is just the beginning of a broader movement.

Which of these statements is hateful?
quote:
"Blood and soil."
'Blood and soil' is a Nazi phrase that is the motto of a racist organisation called 'Vanguard America'.
quote:
"White Lives Matter."
People on here have spent the last few years arguing that BLM is racist. It follows that WLM would also be racist.
quote:
"You will not replace us."
Another common racist slogan
The only one you might have an argument for is WLM.

I concur.

Bingo. These accusations have lost all meaning and impact.
They are an attempt to bully and silence opposition to the left. Ignore them and oppose them harder than ever.

Incorrect. Note the sign. And the videos in the story linked in the OP.

I wonder if they know the Rebel Yell?
I saw that too. Yeah they were old coots in that video and audio but it still made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.
Pack of 1,000 yipping coyotes and screaming Indians on the war parth = The Rebel yell.
It's a high pitched almost scream and yelps that the troops could yell during a full out run that wouldn't leave them sucking for breath because they were trying to yell in a deep pitch.
The "Rebel Yell" is thought to be first invented during the battle of First Manassas when General Stonewall Jackson told his brigade to yell like furies/banshees when they counter attacked down Henry house hill.

Get the ones with arms linked a coat, and hose the ones with torches. We are going to rise again damnit. This time it'll be the middle of the country vs the coastal states.

I don't really care. I just want it to be known that if you want the statues removed then you are naive and unenlightened and should never be taken seriously on any subject.

Can you even define conservative? Hint: Think Edmund Burke, not Donald Trump.

Agreed, minus the few that were put up solely as racist monuments (most of which shouldn't even be considered 'Confederate statues', like the Liberty Place monument).

Just to be clear, this is indeed an alt-right racist group that was endorsed by people like David duke.
Bold move going with tiki torches though.

It brings some much needed lightness to the nationalism

Well it's true. Lee was horrible to his slaves. All you have to do is pick up a book? He separated families that had been together since before American Revolution. Lee also personally disciplined his slaves
quote:
Lees words
I think it however a greater evil to the white man than to the black race, & while my feelings are strongly enlisted in behalf of the latter, my sympathies are more strong for the former. The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, socially & physically. The painful discipline they are undergoing, is necessary for their instruction as a race, & I hope will prepare & lead them to better things. How long their subjugation may be necessary is known & ordered by a wise Merciful Providence. Their emancipation will sooner result from the mild & melting influence of Christianity, than the storms & tempests of fiery Controversy.
There was almost a slave revolt on his plantation because the slaves he bought were to be free by their prior master.
When two of his slaves escaped and were recaptured, Lee either beat them himself or ordered the overseer to "lay it on well." Wesley Norris, one of the slaves who was whipped, recalled that “not satisfied with simply lacerating our naked flesh, Gen. Lee then ordered the overseer to thoroughly wash our backs with brine, which was done.”
During his invasion of Pennsylvania, Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia enslaved free blacks and brought them back to the South as property. Pryor writes that “evidence links virtually every infantry and cavalry unit in Lee’s army” with the abduction of free black Americans, “with the activity under the supervision of senior officers.”
Soldiers under Lee’s command at the Battle of the Crater in 1864 massacred black Union soldiers who tried to surrender. Then, in a spectacle hatched by Lee’s senior corps commander A.P. Hill, the Confederates paraded the Union survivors through the streets of Petersburg to the slurs and jeers of the southern crowd. Lee never discouraged such behavior. As the historian Richard Slotkin wrote in No Quarter: The Battle of the Crater, “his silence was permissive.”
Thing is I don't think Lee statue should come down but let's not act like this man was a gentleman or anti slave or a white supremacists

IIRC, You refused to save a conservative Supreme Court by refusing to vote Trump.
Good thing we got a great constitutional conservative like Neil Gorsuch on it in spite of your pettiness.

Lee had an incredibly important role in improving race relations post-war, at least in Virginia. Unfortunately, it didn't last for very long after his death.

I'll never understand the desire for some people to completely reject history and attempt to bury it. It's the most unenlightened thing I can think of. Which isn't surprising coming from the most unenlightened group of people the world has ever known.

The whole "constitutional conservative" tag is a bunch of tag line BS. Tons of "CC's" couldn't tell you a a damn thing about the constitution.
CC is not an accurate descriptor for Gorsuch.
Originalist or traditionalist would be much more appropriate.
