Winds on Tuesday toppled the National Christmas tree, but the National Park Service is optimistic that “the show must go on” for Thursday’s tree lighting.

Northwest winds ushered in a cold snap Tuesday, with winds between 10 to 20 mph and gusts of up to 35 mph. Gusty winds made it feel even colder.

Really, putting up a tree so it can't even withstand minor gusts?!?! The forecast is on the books for days. And what dumb arse doesn't reinforce the supports adequately so they don't make fools of themselves?!?! Just another failure in Biden's America.

I'm dreading putting mine up. I fought 2 hours to get all the lights working last year. I'm going to buy a new one dec 26th

I buy lights at the end of the season when they are 75% off. At that price I can get enough lights for my tree for almost nothing.

I put up a real tree and when Christmas is over I put the tree and lights at the street for the city to haul away.

I swore years ago that I would never reuse lights, they are always problematic.

I found that the LED lights are much more reliable.
