Well, both Willies are from Alabama.
So was Hank Aaron. And all 3 complained about the cold. Hank in Milwaukee and the Willies at Candlestick Park night games.

Hell, McCovey was about 5 inches taller than Mays.
Not to mention that McCovey has been dead for three years.

Hell, McCovey was about 5 inches taller than Mays. Nobody could confuse them.
I ran into McCovey on a golf course in Maui, Hawaii back in the 80s. He was a helluva nice guy and you're right, he was a big man.

Nancy can't keep her Willies straight.
That's Kamala's department.

I thought the same thing. Now imagine some young Karen, spent years giving "favors" to men and women alike, to finally get a position on Nancy's staff. She has studied every nuance of Nancy, every whim, and then posts this for Nancy. Betcha Nancy brought the poor child in and fired her on the spot after sending word that the staffer is a racist, I know who Willie is, its my racist staffer. Tooo frickin funny.
Second thing I thought of. That poor girl probably got her poli sci or governmental affairs degree at some liberal college. Just knew she was going to right the wrongs those evil white supremacists have wrought on society. And then her mentor and hero ruthlessly casts her aside after an innocent mistake.

I was lucky enough to see Willie McCovey hit two onto the right field upperdeck in Candlestick Park in 1972.

I saw McCovey play twice against the Astros. Everyone in baseball knows that left handed hitters like the ball down. Right handed hitters like the ball up.
Pitchers knew it so they tried to pitch McCovey up around the top of the strike zone. But since he was so tall umpires would see the catcher's glove go up and instinctively call it a ball, high.
Then when the pitcher threw a fastball at his knees he just golfed it out to right field.
