Simplistic? No. Quite the opposite. You guys are failing to read into the cause and effect of tariffs and just being simple Trump sheep and yelling “MAGA!” to everything he does, regardless how bad it’s going to frick up our country. So you think China is going to bend to our demands? That seems pretty simplistic to think that.

You remind me of an old joke.

Two guys decide to start a business selling watermelons. They find a farmer that will sell them watermelons 12 for 12 dollars.

This is awesome!

They load up their truck and take off. They decide to sell their watermelons for $1 ea.

At the end of the day they sold all of their watermelons and count up their cash.

Both ole boys scratch their heads and realize they only made what they paid for the melons.

They look at each other and one of them says "I got it, lets buy a bigger truck"

Please don't let your bosses or clients know you post here.

You guys are just mad that I’m not supporting what our president is doing. Some of you made some good points, and I’ll give you that. But most of you just don’t want to read something you disagree with.

Tariffs are bad economic policy. Artificially raising prices on your own consumers is not a good thing. If another country wishes to subsidize a product to us by offering it for less than we can produce it ourselves then we should take it. Call it foreign aid if you will but it makes no sense to artificially damper the market and drive up the cost of 1,000's of construction projects and thousands of other goods and services to save a job.

I read stuff on here every day that I disagree with. If you want me to change my perspective on the subject then you need to give supporting evidence.

You haven't done that.

In my experience, people never change their opinion when it comes to politics. No matter how blatant something is. Not saying this is blatant, maybe Trump wakes up tomorrow and revokes the tariffs and we’re good.

But to blindly agree with something and not be skeptical makes me wonder how much we’ve become just one side or the other. And I’m a true moderate. So I do my best to look at both sides of things. I’m literally split on issues on both sides. I just have hardly agreed with things Trump has done. I probably wouldn’t have agreed with anything Hillary did either, though. She would have been equally, if not more awful. I hate the 2 party system.

You hang out with idiots. It happens all the time.

I've seen a shite load of "conservatives" being drawn to the dark side by Trump.

you gotta be a troll, a textbook example of a wasted education, a sheeple that's gets boundless knowledge from primetime TV or a Holiday Inn Express janitor.
so which is it?

None. I’m not trolling — simply trying to make a point that these tariffs are terrible ideas. Pretty sure I don’t have a wasted education. And I don’t watch cnn or Fox News like you simplistic people do. I like to get my info from multiple sources and form my own opinion.

I bet you like Fox News, don’t you? Like the narrative that they’re “fair and balanced” and that the media (even though they are media) is out to get Trump? I agree CNN makes it part of their agenda, but for people to not say Fox News doesn’t have an agenda is also laughable.

Quite the opposite. You seem to have brought both sides together with this bullshite. Hell, at least three people who oppose the tariffs have jumped on the bandwagon against you. Not because they disagree with your viewpoints, but because you’re stating things as fact when you don’t know shite about the industry you’re referencing.

Who woulda thunk it.. Florida Man the uniter..

Fotget the political side of the discussion - you don't understand the O&G business and are in over your head. I'm more than happy to buy you a shovel to help you dig your own hole deeper.... I've not once mentioned politics yet the moment you are have nothing else to say, you divert to the usual " Mah, Trump..." response... Crap, where did you get your law degree? I want to make sure none of my kids go there...
