you do realize one can not be arrested because you think something is wrong. you can only be arrested if a crime is committed not for thinking of committing one

I would answer them like this. You were defenseless and trusted your local law enforcement and the FBI to keep you safe. They knew about the threat from Cruz well in advance and did nothing to stop it. They failed you, they failed to do their jobs and they let this happen to you.
This never should have happened. We should not be sitting here and we would not be had they taken action on the intelligence they had been given well in advance.
And yet, instead of putting the blame where it obviously lies. you are trying to promote a political agenda and and take away the constitutional rights of law abiding citizens who had nothing whatsoever to do with what happened to you. Indeed, they would promote the idea of providing sufficient onsite security to you to protect you and others like you from going through such a thing again.
What happened to you was a terrible wrong. But people like me are not going to accept responsibility for the actions of a madman, actions we had nothing to do with and actions we were not in a position to have prevented, but others were. We mourn for you, but focus your attention where it belongs.
