This probably explains why Mueller has been quiet as a church mouse for a while now.
If these accusations are BS, the purpose of them could be not so much to delegitimization the investigation, but to keep ole Bob on the defensive for a while so he couldn’t throw out another BS indictment right before midterms. Which we all expected him to do.
Very clever if so.

If accusations have been leveled against "Honest Bob", then that further shows he found nothing.
That way the Dems could say his investigation was tainted and needs to begin anew with a different "independent" council

I just don't see this being a setup at this point, maybe if it were a year or so ago.
Mueller's investigation has turned up basically nothing he set out to find and everyone paying attention knows it; it's pretty much unquestionable even if you're a Democrat (excluding the extreme crazies like BamaAtl).
I - and most conservatives I'd imagine - don't want anything to distract or take away from the day he releases his "findings" after midterms because we know nothing is there.
I think the story/stories are possibly true and possibly exaggerated a bit if not 100% true. I think the accuser probably waited until now, when the investigation is all but finished, to come forward so her claim DIDN'T get shot down and questioned as a partisan effort to help Trump - that's the only way the timing makes sense.
