What an lazy argument. At what age did you choose to be attracted to girls?

You can call it lazy, but he's not wrong.

You however, came back with a lame question.

When specifically did you make the choice to be attracted to girls?

It's just a choice, so just stop choosing to do so and instead be attracted to guys. It's that easy.

Also, traits as simple as hair color doesn't follow strict Mendelian inheritance.

Obviously something as complex as sexuality will show polygenic determinism with environmental effects

So are you attracted to both men and women equally and the made a choice to only pursue women or are you strictly attracted to the opposite gender? If the former then you are just a closeted bisexual and I can see how you might assume everyone is like you and if the later I have a hard time understanding how you aren’t able to come to the conclusion that some people similar to how you are strictly attracted to the opposite gender are strictly attracted to the same gender not through any choice of their own.

You can choose to act on your attractions but you can not choose who you are attracted to. I love when idiots bring up the being gay is a choice argument. Absolute absurdity.

Your question is lame, and not the first one to be lazy using it.

I truly hope you have found peace and solace, brother.

I have read religion and philosophy front to back, and then over again. Came away with nothing but more doubt and questions.

But I do know this, Christianity alikens the Lord to a "Heavenly Father". As a father of 2, there is no way in hell I would program my children with the very traits to damn them for all eternity. Especially if I were omnipotent and omniscient. I would do everything in my power to avoid setting them up for failure.

In other words, you can't answer him because you realize that your argument is devoid of reason and you're cornered. Got it.

So basically the other poster is running intellectual circles around you, and you're too stubborn to admit defeat.

If you don't have a valid reply, best to just say so or be silent.

Your lame/lazy response shtick reeks of ignorance and blind cultish devotion.

I think mouton was saying that being gay is not a choice but used some, er, unfortunate language to illustrate that point. I had to read it a couple of times to make sure I wasn't out in left field myself.

Can you choose who you are physically attracted to? Yes or no?

Did you choose to be attracted to women?

It's a simple yes or no question.

Alcoholism is hereditary so should they just choose to be an alcoholic because of the attraction to booze?
