What is the difference between having a sexual relationship with a person in a long-term, stable, and loving homosexual relationship vis a vis a heterosexual relationship (this includes marriage)?
for starters, it makes no sense biologically. second, it makes no sense morally.

Poor analogy as alcoholism is only relevant after one is addicted
no. totally wrong. the analogy is inescapably isomorphic. the epigenetic tendency of alcoholism is what led to the person succumbing to alchohol in the first place. was the person forced to drink? no.

can one avoid taking a drink.
absolutely. is it difficult? absolutely.

Being gay is not a choice
acting on it absolutely is a choice. having the proclivity is not to a certain degree. people have been able to beat the urge to smoke through hypnosis. that is an epigenetic tendency just like homosexuality.

It doesn't lead never-exposed individuals to want to drink
you would have an exceedingly hard time proving this in an objective and quantifiable sense because it is an epigenetic phenomenon. it's ontological and metaphysical, not empirical.

so when a person has the proclivity to be a serial killer or rapist or pedo, just let them do what they need to do.

I’m sure there are identical twins who have different sexual preferences, and they are a close genetically as you can get
uh oh. somebody's woke. good for you. ftr, they're not "close." monozygotic twins are genetically indistinguishable.

a fetus has two hormones (estrogen and testosterone). one harmone takes over the other and a sex is determined. however, sometimes........one doesn't finish the job. when this occurs, the gay "gene" is possibly present.
omg. seriously? there is no gay gene. there never was.

my word the education system has TOTALLY failed the west.

if it is a gene and one is straigh and one gay then it's environment not genetics as both have the same DNA code
monozygotic twins have in some studies exhibited disparate sexual orientation.

It’s both genetic and environmental
it's not genetic. it's epigenetic. huge difference.

you can have identical twins with one right handed and one left handed.
my word, that is something that is taught. you've never heard of the word ambidextrous?

Look to nature, young one.

The answer is easy enough to find.

That explains why there’s absolutely no evidence of homosexual behavior in the animal kingdom outside of humans.

Oh wait...

i wondered how long it would be before this one made an appearance. the purported homosexual behavior of animals is first, difficult to objectively quantify and second, thought to be related to the establishment of social hierarchy, not for any reasons of sexual attraction.

This has become a catch-all for all manner of quackery.
it's just an expedient to describe what almost everyone in this thread has confirmed, that people have tendencies that are not capable of being controlled 100%. numerous examples have been given.

You are assuming that he received one. I question that assumption. I see it as more likely that he reads a few web articles on a subject, scribbles a few technical terms, then rushes to display his “knowledge.”

Sexual attraction is not something someone mulls over in puberty and "decides"
well you and society disagree on this matter because people have coming out parties all the time. gender is now considered fluid and you can be whatever you want which is subject to change at any time
