There were a lot more crimes being discussed than just what the Latino wench said about that kid.

If I’m not mistaken, Martinez is not a hardcore leftist/progressive and is one of the few voices of reason on the city council.
Bonin is a progressive that just faced a recall and is so disliked in his district, he is not seeking reelection.
Whoever replaces Martinez will almost certainly be worse.

I wasn't sure if she was a Democrat or not until I read Newsome's comments in that article:
