Well China doesn’t engage in free market capitalism they engage in mercantilism
Their manufactured goods exist in the global free market.
What difference does it make how the producer gets goods to market cheaper than others? Does China control who buys and sells their stuff in the global marketplace?
If I could buy cotton cheaper from a producer that uses slave labor than I could produce it in my own colonies, I would. Only when that supply chain were disrupted would I start to produce it in my colonies. IOW, it doesn't matter where I get my materials from, as long as I can reduce my overhead and increase my margins.

It makes it not capitalism

what is your issue with that statement?

Progressive are part of the problem. Under Clinton and Obama signed 2 trade deals that complete benefited China and hurt Americans. They gave an ideology that if you treat people nicely they would work together and be fair. All china has done is taken advantage of that naivety.

The OP must love the market collapse that began when China reacted to the virus.
He wants a government to tell Apple and Cat and Starbucks and BOA and BA and all the other companies Trump has been fighting for with his trade war to help sell into China that they cannot sell their products into China??
Good luck with that.

It's fricking ridiculous we do so much buisness with a country who we know constantly steals, lies, manipulate, and we know our treaties won't be honored. Yet it just constantly gets ignored. They gave fricking tax breaks on fent production exports when Trump started a trade war. They started chemical warfare on us but we still want to work with them.
And we gave Iran a pallet of cash. Gropin joe was at the wheel when all of this was happening

I don't think you understand what capitalism is.
If I can sell widgets in my store for $10 dollars, and I can buy them from Supplier1 for $5, Supplier2 for $4, and Supplier3 for $1, I'm going to buy them from supplier3. That's capitalism. It doesn't matter how Supplier3 can produce them for $1.
Now the OP wants me to not buy them from Supplier3. Why not? Because OP says he doesn't like the system that produces the widgets? Tough, my margins are better when I use Supplier3.

Correct. It being woefully poor logic makes it woeful.

They dont punish stealing of intellectual properties they encourage it.
They don't steal technology any more than anyone else, they make technology transfer a requirement for doing business in their country. Industry doesn't have to transfer technology to the Chinese, they could simply choose not to do business under those terms.
But they can't resist the low, low prices!

Okay, laughing boy, how do you propose we "cut China off" in the context of the free market?

You sanction and tariff them to death for anti free trade practices.
Or are you one of those that claims sanctioning anti free trade practices is in itself anti free trade?

That looks more like government interference in the market. I asked how do we cut China off in the context of the free market - that is to say, without government interference.

Easier said than done.....and overall a pretty stupid proposal
