You’re making a good argument for nuclear war then. We just nuke China off the earth and restore peace and prosperity.

Hmmm playing a gotcha game is a mark of mental superiority. Sorry you are actually wrong because the comment was saying that you only need air superiority to win a war. I guess you didn’t realize that US troops fought the Japanese Imperial Army across the Pacific and then had to have troops to occupy Japan proper. So in reality you gotcha game is null and void.

Funny big man on the internet LCpl. I guarantee you wouldn’t be talking shite in person. Too bad you can’t walk into my home office. There is my Commission framed in the wall, my DD214 framed, my marmaluke sword, my dress cover with gold braid, oh my Company Command picture along with my framed Guidon. And a shite ton of plaques and medals on the book case. Which one do you need a picture of LCpl?

There will be no more “major ground wars.” Asymmetric warfare and precision guidance munitions are the present and future. This is what the Ukraine war has shown. Neither side can advance without a drone blasting them from the air.

The Marine Corps Combat Development Command has been working on this issue for the past decade. They have a potential solution close to being fielded. We aren’t going to let that cat out of the bag for Ukraine though.

USN has the same issue, I’m guessing the other branches do as well

The ratio of enlisted to officers (think this is 2012 data though):

Air Force = 4.1 to 1
Army = 5.1 to 1
Navy = 6.2 to 1
USMC = 8.7 to 1

Note 1: subtract pilots and the ratios would be Marines would jump significantly
Note 2: the Army has more Brigadier Generals than the Marines have Colonels. The pyramid in Marine Officers ranks get real tight comparatively at 0-5.

That wasn't the comment, sport.

Here's a refresher for you:

Vietnam was never a threat to the United States. If we wanted to, we could've bombed the frick out of them and beat them into submission without putting a single boot on the ground there. Same goes for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Like I said, read a fricking book.

I haven't said anything that I wouldn't say to you. In fact, I'd probably slap the shite out of you if you started running your mouth like you have been here.

Where are we talking about Nukes here? For the life of me I don’t see a mention of nuclear weapons. I do see “bomb the frick out of them” which anyone with a brain understands that is referring to conventional bombs.

I may be a little rusty but I highly doubt that. In fact I would bet a paycheck that you couldn’t land a slap, like a little bitch, on me. In fact I could almost guarantee how things would go. So run along LCpl, I am growing tired of you.

The funny thing is, is that much of the aid we sent to Ukraine was actually money we spent on re-industrializing in the US to reopen artillery factories and replace all the old stuff we sent them with new stuff…

We were killing two birds with one stone, weakening one of our primary geopolitical rivals, while also modernizing and increasing capacity to manufacture weaponry.

Guess that was a bad thing.

Who is trying to fight an entrenched ground war in 2025? We have enough jets and air craft carriers to pretty much smash anything and drive a Kia over the corpses if we want.....

As did the Luftwaffe...until they didn't.

Only the Luftwaffe did NOT control the skies. The Battle of Britain was their first major battle, and they lost. Do you mean that Hitler thought they would?
