no matter how many times i tell npc90 and ib this, they won't listen. 90 is more concerned with a "cost-benefit" analysis of the tariffs as compared to the tpp and ib is more concerned about his bottom line

The talk that China’s rise means our decline is just crazy talk

I would rather we concentrate on reducing our devotion to our role of world policemen
omg the rally cry of the progressive liberal. get this, we have real enemies who want to destroy us. our military presence around the world helps to keep the fight on foreign soil instead of it coming to us soil. i'm sorry you're too naive to understand this.

we declare somebody out for world domination

you are wrong. you don't even understand the subject. are you seriously suggesting that the chinese leadership is, whether intentionally or not, abandoning communism in favor of a completely open and free market? please tell me you don't believe that.

IB Freeman says tariffs are bad

Bad is a relative term. It assumes that maximum productivity at all times is desired and ignores other important factors.

While I inherently dislike Trump identifying himself as a "tariff man", I understand that there is sometimes utility in instituting tariffs for national security reasons, even though many times national security is claimed as a reason for unnecessary tariffs that in no way produce benefits from the standpoint of national security.

Tariffs as a means of creating jobs makes little economic sense. Historically, jobs created in one sector are offset by jobs lost in others.

I also have my doubts that we can ever defeat China in a tariff war, simply because we have a privileged populace with a lower pain tolerance. That being said, it won't stop me from voting for the guy again in 2020.

Who else would I vote for? Biden or the string of budding socialists?
