[quote]This is just asinine. People into social justice WANT the problems to improve. This idea that they have some vested interest in making it "appear" that there is more of a problem than actually exists is just right wing desire to trivialize those issues. [/quote
So you don't think advocates ever exaggerate situations for mass effect?

who told me some incredible and horrible stories. Many of those women (according to her) did not file a police report.
So are you saying those women were lying or that their situation is not prevalent enough to be a social problem.
again. where have i said that there is no under-reporting? that exists with every crime
i do NOT believe that 20% of adult women in the US have been raped, and i do NOT believe 20% of college females are being raped. obviously the criminal statistics do not come close to matching 20% of either group being raped
my stance has been clear

Do you think there's anything society should do to make it easer for those women to come forward?
we've already slanted the system so far in their favor that it's created a problem of false rape claims
this issue doesn't exist in a vaccuum. as a person who claims to believe in the rights of criminals, you should be very mindful of an even greater expansion that you desire. it greatly affects the constitutional and human rights of the accused

Talking to you is like talking to a rock.
You made a blanket statement that feminists were the way they are because they were molested by their fathers. You really don't see why that would cause someone to raise an eyebrow?
And furthermore you haven't backed off or even really attempted to quantify your statement.
Just so I can be clear, i'll ask you again: Is it your belief that every feminist out there holds her views because she was either molested/abused by her father/husband OR has some kind of mental disorder?

I wouldn't say never, but I don't think it's nearly as big a problem as these privately funded corporate studies that are motivated by profit.

Do you know the difference between a feminist and a radical feminist?
Apparently you don't, so just stfu.
I clarified the difference.
How many MAN HATING RADICAL FEMINISTS do you know? There is a huge difference between those and feminists.
And just to be clear....go back and read my post. Try comprehending. Reading comprehension is fun.

Alright, if you believe this is true then why are many women afraid of coming forward? They will tell you that they feel the exact opposite and that if they come forward they will be blamed because of what they wore, because they "egged him on" that men "can't control themselves". I'm not saying those feelings are correct or not, but that's what they will tell you. Do you or don't you think that we should be trying to make those women more comfortable with coming forward? Answer the question.

the very first post I made in this thread I talked about this.

How can i know where you draw the line?
Why don't you tell me what the difference between a feminist and a radical feminist is. in your opinion.

Actually, that's exactly how DS is acting in this thread.
And if Mr Womenz Rights doesn't know the difference between a feminist and a radical feminist, he should do some research before spouting off.

so you're saying there's an objective definition, and personal opinions on what's "radical" don't enter into it?

if you read the article you posted OR my commentary of the article, you'd know the answer to this question for a great number (possible majority) of cases. they know the perpetrator and it's often family or a friend of family

Do you or don't you think that we should be trying to make those women more comfortable with coming forward?
as long as it doesn't affect the rights of the accused. i don't know what else we CAN do, realistically
for example:
quote:
if they come forward they will be blamed because of what they wore, because they "egged him on" that men "can't control themselves"
this argument has no merit b/c it is not a problem b/c that cannot be used in a prosecution
what else can you do for the issue?
Posted on 7/5/14 at 3:43 pm to Draconian Sanctions
For fricks sake. They call themselves radical.
Again, trying to talk to you is as effective as doing this:

I didn't ask that.
do you think we should be trying, yes or no?

yes
that doesn't mean there is anything we can do, especially in light of the rights of the accused
wish in one hand and shite in the other. tell me which one fills up first
