It doesn't count unless it's paid for in toto by a check signed by the President of Mexico, with a notation stating that it is for the wall.

Currently only OK has a fee on remittances made to foreign countries. It is fully refundable when a citizen files their taxes for that year. However, $12M remain unclaimed last year in just that state alone. Mexico is the largest receiver of these US initiated remittances, to the tune of $29B per year. (that's money forever leaving our economy to prop up theirs). A 3% transaction fee would raise $1B in the first year from Mexico, and $2.5B from all S. American remittances combined

I've been pushing for this for years. Ok was spot on with this method of taxing those that don't pay taxes, without discriminating against or hurting any innocent party.

I would assume the expectation is some increase to some form of tax revenue, but I am no genius on the subject.

uh, the most recent estimate is that 700k American workers are on govt assistance and not paying income taxes, due to Nafta

Uh, that's not what the 700K estimate even means, unless:

1) every single one of those workers was unable to find another job even after 20-something years

2) withdrawing from NAFTA returned every single one of those jobs in their old form

Leftists sure are touchy and defensive when one of their cherished gotchas is challenged.

Just like I know that he said he'd "do the best deals" and "get us out of bad deals" to close our trade deficit. A year and change into his term and it's at a 9-year high.

Not to mention he said we'd be shocked at the speed of the development of these 2-party deals. A year-plus and nothing at all, not even anything promising in the queue.

LoL, Like either one of you have a clue.

He got his travel ban. He is crushing ISIS. He gutted Obamacare. He got his tax cuts. Got out of TPP. He killed the climate accords. He ended DACA. He got the FBI to verify they tapped his wires. And he will get his wall, and renegotiate Nafta

We should tax remittances to Mexico and all foreign countries to the tune of 10%. We should also tax capital that leaves the US to foreign countries also. And we should tax repatriated profits from Japanese and German automative companies that make cars in the USA and all other foreign countries that repatriate profits made in the USA.

We should also tax at a higher rate capital gains made from investing in foreign countries.

what i stated was objective fact

deal with it

he may very well get his "wall", but it will look nothing like the dream he sold his idiot flock, nor will it be as cheap as they're pretending, nor will mexico pay for it in any meaningful way
