NATO is by its own charter a multination defense treaty. So, the simple dumb down version is if one country is attacked all the other country's will aid in its defense.
There is nothing in the treaty that sanctions any form of an "lets invade Russia together" obligation.

Any take that includes "Putin has already lost" is hopelessly naïve in the extreme. Regardless of outcome, Russia and China will exit this Ukraine conflict with a completely changed global financial & trade system and the dollar weakened/removed.
