Explain to me why we need any immigration at all? We can't even take care of the people who are here already. I think the best move would be a 5 year moratorium on Immigration of any kind to get our house in order then consider merit based immigration not just people from every third world corner of the earth.

If it were up to me we would have ZERO Immigration of any kind. None. The United States should not be the dumping ground for low IQ, uneducated, unskilled people. Period. We are becoming a nation of Illegal Immigrants and anchor babies. Unfortunately, these views aren't shared by the people in power so merit based is the absolute best we can hope for.
