Because God charged each and every one of us to be disciples.

Agreed. I thought this was an interesting tidbit.

a recent survey he commissioned found 88% of Christians haven’t advanced past the “toddler stage” of spiritual development.

I'm not familiar with his methodology or how he defines "toddler stage," but I would be willing to bet it's along the same lines as Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development, and that "toddler stage" means being "Christian" to avoid punishment or out of self-interest.

You mean,” many people who call themselves Christian” don’t attend church

So what actions do you think demonstrate putting God before money? I know lots of non-Christians who help others the best they can. Same for Christians. I know lots who don't. What they do with their money is their business I guess.

I'm not a Christian. I have no plans for a conversion, deathbed or otherwise. If someone asks me for help and I believe I'm in a position to do it, I just do it and don't think much about it. I would imagine this is pretty much what everyone in the world does. Why wouldn't they?

Once a minority christians will be a major target of violence and discrimination. At that point if you are christian you are probably better off living in Mexico.

Honest question BiggRazorback, when was the last time someone, in person tried to share the gospel with you?

How is sharing the results of a poll fear mongering? Do you doubt the results of the poll? And if not, why is pointing out facts fear-mongering?

I get people come by often. Mostly JW's though. And at the park there are often JW's there with literature racks.

I'm not a Jesus or God (as you believe God to be) hater. I just don't think any human needs any kind of after life saving. To me, that's absurd. I was fine before I came into this world and I expect to be fine afterwards -- come what may.

Why do Christians have a problem with non-Christians not wanting to be Christians?

Simply put, we care about you, but we also know we can't force you to do what isn't in your heart. I used to be of the same mindset as you, didn't step foot in a Church for 12 years after leaving Afghanistan. I was struggling with depression, divorce, anxiety, PTSD and then I lost the vision in one of my eyes. I was told that it was the result of MS and I started to circle the drain. Thankfully a friend, my bartender actually, saw I was destroying myself after getting that news and she cared enough to invite me to her Church. I won't say my life is perfect, but it is night and day better than before, now that I re-found my faith. I'm happily married, I'm a foster parent to two amazing children, I volunteer in the community and none of that would be possible were it not for that one person caring enough to ask me to sit with her at Church. It is not for everyone, I get it, but realize that Christians aren't trying to be mean, they just care.

Edit to say that thankfully after a year of continued tests, they were wrong about me having MS.

but Christians need to be vigilant

I am reminded of Matthew 25:1-13, the parable of the 10 virgins. Today's church is asleep in the light and the Holy Spirit is grieved. As you say, we must remain vigilant. Unfortunately, many will resort to the vices of this world and succumb to cheap imitations and temptations for temporary reprieve from hardships. Believers must be continuously entrenched in Scripture and in prayer and also be part of a strong body of fellow believers who will provide accountability and support during these end times.

In what time period was America ever be spirtually better? We founded this country with war, then we lived with slavery for almost a century. we slaughterd native americans. Overthrew countless countries elected officals. Waged war in all parts of the world. during all those times more Americans claimed to be christians than now. We elect people who claim to be chirstian that are christians in name only and not by thier actions. I would tell you that we have always been a fake christian nation. Humans by nature are horrible creatures history teaches us that.

This I agree with and the Bible states the same.
It’s exactly why we need a savior

If a person really believes what the Bible says about heaven,( no pain, no tears, no sickness, no death, no suffering, surrounded by pure love) why wouldn’t he long for this?

The Bible also says that human life is sacred. Why so eager to end it?

Everyone can live for eternity in an infinitely better place if they are saved. Why would you want to hold on to this miserable fading world when heaven awaits?

i get that but why yearn for the end of the world to get there faster? background: i grew up hardline pentecostal. My grandfather was country pentecostal preacher, my uncle and so many other family memembers are preachers and some have founded churches with large congregations. I grew up in a world that told me telvision was the devil and of the world. Men didnt grow beards, women don't cut thier hair. To this day my great uncle refers to pentecostals men that dont wear long sleeves year around are toying with distruction. I have heard 100's of sermaons speaking about the glory of the rapture. My grandmother told me when i went to college that the end was near and i needed to worry about my faith more than my education. Organized religion is the worst thing to happen for Christianity since they killed Jesus.

Pointing out where we are headed won’t expedite anything. The end will come only when God chooses

That’s an odd thing to say, since Jesus founded the church.
