This was a sham interview.
It was heavily edited and they gave him leading questions.
Notice that they rarely showed Biden and interviewer asking and answering in the same shot.
They had to get close ups of Biden answering. They had to edit the interview and insert clips of him giving rehearsed answers.

The first question asked by a female leftist media interviewer to Obama was, "In your first month in office, what has surprised you the most?" Real hard-hitting stuff.
Just wondering why Scott Pelley didn't begin the interview with him like Leslie - there's-no-evidence - Stahl began her interview with Trump, by warning him before hand and making sure that the viewers heard her, "Are you ready for some tough questions?"
It might've been a first for introductions/warnings for a guest, even among the hardcore leftist media.
Don't recall anything similar ever being said to Hillary or Bill, or any leftist guest.
Remember the cause célèbre they made over Dan Quayle mistakenly adding an "e" to the singular of potato. It just went on and on. How easy could a mistake be made, in that the "e" is in the plural.
But it's all about how they selectively celebrate gaffes for political purposes for things that most look upon as incidentals.
Nothing from any of them on the verbal gaffes of Obama. Some of them hilarious.

They beef up security to make sure he doesn't mingle with White House visitors, especially little girls. When he speaks publicly he is surrounded by teleprompters with 4" letters and a group of aides whispering to him what he should say next. Then they lead him off the stage, like a pony, and hope he doesn't fall and bust his azz in front of the whole world. That's a day in the life of Joe Biden, our President, and the leader of the free world.

It can't be worse than the sham interview with Merrick Garland where it was obvious the questions and answers were rehearsed. Truly pathetic trying to make Garland out to be something other than the left wing political hack that he is.
