No it doesn't. I charged from near 0% to 90% yesterday in both of my EVs and it cost $11 and $13
Do you own other vehicles?

I think in all of Lake Charles Tesla has two charging stations. Coincidentally they are by a sonic so at least you can handle some OT knuckle checking while charging your car.

What do you think it'll cost when oil prices are $200/bbl?

How long did that take you?
Why don't you have the home charger installed?
Why didn't you go to 100% charge?

Has he looked at pick up truck prices lately?

The Dim's and their dumb arse voters also believe that electricity just magically floats around in the air and has no idea on how it's really made.

These damn fools are pursuing the same policy that the Germans did
That is actually not entirely true.
Germany and half of Europe runs vehicles on Liquid Natural Gas and not electric. These vehicles can also run on regular gasoline as well.
But yes, they're screwed now with this Russia war.

I would think electric car use is easier for homeowners

30 minutes in my Model Y and 40 minutes in my Model S.

I do, extenuating circumstances yesterday.

It takes a disproportionate amount of time to charge from 90% to 100%, cost isn't worth it. Also charging to 90 will extend battery longevity

Its .30 a kW at a regualr charger and .10-.20 at the Tesla ones
So how exactly does it not cost that amount?

Trucks are high but a used family gas car is more readily available and cheaper than a used EV. The barrier to entry of an EV for many families is way too much to overcome for a lot of people. This is why it is so tone-deaf of Pete to continue to push this.

So you spent 70 minutes of your day and $25 to get a 90% charge yesterday. What is your time worth to you?

Charging costs aren't static at Tesla stations. Baton Rouge charges by minute, not by kWH

Just wait until the amount of gas revenue the Government collects from taxes drops and they start putting more fees on electricity to offset their losses. Then it affects your home and car.

I spent 40 minutes while I ate lunch with my wife. There are multiple chargers at the charging stations.
And I'm not advocating people get an EV, a lot of people will do better in an ICE, just clearing up the inaccuracies in this thread like "There are only Tesla chargers in California"

So how does that work on a cross country trip??
distance on a 90% charge = ? Then wait half hour to go next charge?
really curious here.
