Nah, I think the mortal wound was the regulatory capture that began in the 1970s in earnest, where members of both parties aligned with big business to the detriment of labor everywhere. Those associations are well-documented, but the net effect of it is a capture so complete that you need institutional support to actually undo it.

Ah, so you're a Grammar Nazi in addition to being the regular kind?

How very droll and predictable, it's a message board, sweetheart...

I'll watch my P's and Q's so you may avoid the fainting couch...

This is a very silly statement. Just incredibly silly.

See? This is the classic response. Accuse someone of being a Nazi/Groomer/ whatever else you muppets are hysterical about this week, and then run away from that assertion when questioned. For example, give me a specific post of mine which you would consider 'Nazi' you silly goose?

Well, what exactly do I get from this conversation? I'd reject any oversight by people like you and there really isn't anything you can add to the conversation other than unsatiable anger. Fundamentally, you are not interested in undoing the regulatory capture, and thus, the conversation we could have is limited.

Lighten up, Dr. Mengele, it was a counter-punch aimed at your stupid Grammar Nazi-ing on a message board....

The Narcissism always makes an appearance....

Not from the perspective of the patient.

Best general practitioners locally are mid levels.

Write another post about where 'pathology has led us.'

Again, you are not fundamentally interested in fixing the situation and I think, given your posts, you are trying to dress up your bad-faith with idiotic justifications.

No wonder our Healthcare System is so fked: Tons of bed pans to be emptied and you're trying to win "I'm Very Smart" points on a message board while pretending to take a dump.

Thats generally how I feel about my GP. She's been wrong more than right.

I've spent a lot of money chasing ghosts because of her and the retarded ER docs in town.

You have serious self esteem issues, and you’re lying when you say you don’t care about the credibility of the industry. You care very deeply and it grinds your gears, which is why you have to attempt to ridicule anybody who questions it. They told you when you got your white coat you’d be a god and the reality has disappointed you.

Do you think I'm responsible for emptying bed pans? Lol.

His entire self esteem is wrapped up in his occupation.

I love my Oncology NP. Her "boss" only shows up once a month, and I haven't seen him in two years. She's pretty amazing.

You don't get to decide this. You realize that, right? I'm not angry. I'm critical. I don't think the medical industry is teeming with mean people that piss me off. I think it's teeming with greedy/power-hungry assholes hiding behind a historical "benevolent" perception of the medical industry to take advantage of people.

The root cause should be obvious. Don't let your emotions confuse you about the difference between nonsense Covid/vaxx BS and rational/objective criticism and skepticism.

quote:

But what if in my position, I don't have to care about the credibility of the entire industry? It's not like me repeating incredibly basic aspects of pathology and immunology is going to convince them. Do they want someone with credentials to tell them their wild rhetorical style, driven by emotion as it is, is okay? I honestly don't know. I'm at the point where, because of the relative acuity of cases we see, it truly doesn't matter. The arguments about credibility are for you and your feelings about the profession. I wasn't involved in any of that, in fact I was critical of several aspects, but those critiques don't seem to hold weight when people are more interested in ascribing to me positions I did not hold as a proxy for the entire industry.

On the one hand, you don't care about the credibility of the entire industry. That's fine. It's a personal choice. Okay.

But then you go on and explain why you spend a lot of time and emotion battling "some of the dumbest things" you've ever heard and "screeds about the need for an entire industry to issue a mea culpa."

What are you trying to convey?

And you have serious stupidity issues which mistake antagonism for a particular moronic group on the internet for something tangible.

You mean post on a message board in the same exact manner I've always posted on a message board? I've been ridiculing one thing. I've written plenty of long posts for posters who are operating in good faith. Sorry that you aren't among those. You might learn something.

You keep retreating to this reference, when I'm just a pedantic nerd who dislikes morons intentionally misunderstanding my true passion, which is immunology and molecular biology. In person, people are way more deferential than you seem to think. I don't know what reality you are living in though.

In all your interactions with me, do you really think I'd confuse the two?
