He has a companion book for kids called The Amazing Generation that helps explain on their level the harms of social media and continual use of tech. My two oldest kids (11 and 9) have read it and seemed to appreciate the arguments and understand why they won’t get social media or smart devices until their late teens. I think their age is also the right audience as early-mid teens will probably think the analogies and stories are dumb.
I expect it to get really difficult as more and more of their friends get smart watches, phones, and social media, but we plan to hold firm on limiting devices and social media.

Yep my daughter is turning 9 this year, and we are just beginning the navigation of this craziness. We have no intention of allowing her a smart phone or social media p for many years but last year allowed her a tablet with keyboard to allow her to use for school and learning apps. Almost immediately the questions started coming about various apps that were available. We gave in on streaming apps for movies but have not given in on games. We drew a clear no screen time Sunday through Thursday rule but immediately had to deal with a teacher because of it as the teacher was giving rewards to student for completing zearn lessons during the week which was making my daughter feel left out. I have been horrified talking to other parents and learning how much freedom some of these kids have with tablets, and smartphones. I feel like I am the crazy person when I talk to some of these parents and tell them our daughter won't be having a smartphone till she is nearly graduating highschool
