And yet, the liberal filth that spews out on their paper represents maybe 10% of the people who subscribe.

Some of their articles are puff pieces that have to be paid for. Occasionally they will inform the readers of some underhanded things that are noteworthy. They don’t do enough of this though. Most of the fat in government comes from areas that they are biased to as well.

I stopped reading when the new Orleans trash took it over. They proceeded to fire the editors that made it a great paper to begin with and hire the new Orleans trash that ran the picayune in the ground.

I stopped reading when John Georges took it over. I can't stand that guy.

I do not live in Louisiana but if my local papers are any indication this may be what people refer to as "damning with faint phrase".

Paper sucks.
The only reason it survives is the because it is the "paper of record". Because of this, it gets state and local funds to print the legal ads and legislative records.

WTF, in this day in age, why is this stuff just not published on the internet on a state site? Would save millions of dollars!

The answer to the question is, wait for it, because this is the link between the crooked press and the political class.

Because it is the paper of record there is no competitive bidding!

I’m not sure to be honest. There might be a few smaller ones that I’m unaware of.

I stopped my subscription when they ran the editorial supporting gun control years ago.

I know. Sure wish somebody would invent ad blocking plugins for browsers. That would be awesome.

I've read the Advocate since about 1970. I cancelled my subscription shortly after the paper was sold. It became unreadable. My Dad still has it delivered......mostly out of habit....because he hates it as well. I occasionally stop by my parent's house to visit and pick it up to browse. It is not a shadow of its former self.

It has become a liberal rag suitable for the bottom of your cat's litter box.

No different with the local News Channels. I watch to get the weather, sports and local stuff...but I know that I'll get the *Trump sucks* headlines that come down from the Top. Of course, the Dupes and Useful Idiots will always buy the propaganda, and worse, act on it. Systematically aggrieved, and justified in "Resist" re Constitutional Rule of Law.

One thing is for sure...things never are static. Action = Reaction. Will be interesting to watch the show. As long as the pain isn't intolerable.

I was at a friend's house in Mandeville Saturday and picked up her copy of the Advocate. Manafort's incarceration was the headline with Trump's name featured prominently just below.

It's amazing just how biased and downright dishonest this paper can be and still find subscribers.

Well it is.

Of course it is liberal but look at the other options:

Nola picayune? It doesn't even run 7 days a week.

Almost every other paper is a Gannet subsidiary that pumps in a lot of canned articles.

Well, you hit upon something here. Garnett owns a swath of papers in major metro areas across the state: Shreveport, Lafayette, Alexandria, etc.

Given the trash product that is Garnett, it’s not a high bar for The Advocate to best most of the state’s daily papers.
