I live amongst a bunch of limousine liberals. They’d get them off brand cereal and other stuff in a care package and load them up on busses and wave goodbye like the folks in Martha’s Vineyard did. They wouldn’t tolerate them here for a second despite all the “In this house we believe…..” virtue signaling yard signs in the neighborhood. It’s one reason I love living here. Don’t have to deal with homeless, vagrants, or Illegal Immigrants. I do deal with things like pot holes, high taxes, horrible city services etc so it’s a trade off.

The federal government has one primary job (national security) and it's not doing it. It's literally the reason it exists. I wouldn't call that dependency, it's just a basic expectation. A flashlight has one job too. If it didn't provide light, it's as useless of an item as our government.
