If Texas would have followed AOC’s New Green Deal, they wouldn’t have had homes without power. Says AOC herself. Conservatives should really pull for AOC to save her seat each election. It’s going to a Dem anyway, might as well go to a loon who is an utter embarrassment. .

quote:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took a swipe at Texas political leaders, propounding that the suffering Texans are experiencing because of the freezing cold and concomitant power outages could have been addressed by her “Green New Deal.”

Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, “The infrastructure failures in Texas are quite literally what happens when you *don’t* pursue a Green New Deal.

quote:

Conservative pundit Erick Erickson had some choice words as well: “Yes the snow covered solar panels and frozen wind turbines would have been so much more effective by themselves.”

AOC is so stupid, it boggles the mind how she could have been elected. It speaks volumes about her constituents.

She literally answered what amounted to a casting call of a PAC who interviewed people to see who they wanted to prop up.

That's how she was chosen. Then a shitload of money was put behind her to be the mouthpiece for the group that selected her.

Read the comments from Libtards, it's more embarrassing than her actual tweet.

Liberals can brag all they want about being college educated, but they are still dumb as hell and have ZERO common sense.

It's all about raising prices to make a profit.

Besides the impact on households, the cold is wreaking havoc on the energy industry itself. U.S. oil production has dropped by well over a million barrels a day, helping U.S. crude prices trade above $60 a barrel for the first time in more than year.

Pretty Sure the total cost of damage to personal property (burst pipes, fires) will far outweigh the cost skipped in 2011 to winterize power generation.

Insulate natural gas lines. How difficult is that?

Windmills covered 17% of the power demand. I have no idea about the scientific engineering involved in going full renewals and risk management, but I do know not insulating those pipes was a complete failure.

Also the green New deal was voted 0-57 in the Senate just FYI

I think AOC is out there and the Green New Deal would be a financial disaster.

But blaming this power outage on frozen wind turbines is next-level retarded.

Pelosi did say that a glass of water with a D next to it could have won Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district seat.

Texas is a red state with its power grid managed by red people. You can blame AOC for a lot of things but this isn't one of them.

For the love of God man. 30% of North Dakota’s electricity comes from wind and the turbines operate in weather that makes this Texas storm look like a cool breeze.

The damn things run in cold weather if you winterize them.

Stop letting your hate of AOC make you hate a machine. I don’t think they should be subsidized and I don’t think they should be used for anything more than 10-20% of your energy grid but they do work.

Your post basically gets to the point it seems the oil and wind people are purposefully avoiding by throwing out percentages.

Yes, wind failed. Yes, a greater percentage of the power supply is oil/gas and it failed too.

But that is a function of it being the main power source that renewables are nowhere close to being able to achieve.

It's bizarre why we can't just agree on that.
