Of course states can’t secede. It’s a silly endeavor. But hey, got to keep the fundraising going!

analysis

Those who are against TEXIT—for reasons yet to be explained—don’t seem interested in any sort of discussion, much less an analysis.
All I see are one-liners, quips they’ve seen/read elsewhere, and/or insults.
I’m not characterizing you in that manner, just commenting, in general, on many of the TEXIT critics.

Texas doesn’t need the permission of the USA to leave the USA.

That's usually how unserious the ideas are greeted.

Yeah. They don’t need a legal right to secede.

Given that over 40 percent voted for Biden you could not get a 4 Republican 1 Democrat split in five newly-created states. The best you could hope for is 3-2 which could easily go 2-3 down the road. Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston used to be solid red. Not anymore.

People can be as snide as they want, but the movement is gaining traction.
While certainly not a reliable gauge of anything, I just opened Twitter (after reading your comment) and noticed quite a few #TEXIT tweets today alone.

A few of the first tweets that loaded:

That is absolutely false. Words not war define constitutional issues. For example the "constitutional issue" of slavery was decided not by the Civil War, but by the 13th Amendment. The Constitution never spoke to secession, and still doesn't.

When you have pro sports figures saying on tv they have no pride in our fkag or country, or usa teams kneeling before the flag and anthem or saying America was never great...

Then they have no say so in what Texas chooses to do.

I say let Oregon succeed and all the lefties can go there and live happy ever after.

Scalia is wrong.
