Wait, I thought the woke school was in Austin.
once upon a time. A&M is pretty much culturally the same now, at least from a faculty standpoint. the student body is probably still more conservative, but not for long.

if you could somehow measure the rate of change from conservative to liberal, i am convinced that A&M would be leading the charge. it is staggering how fast the woke ideology overtook the school.
That’s what I have heard from Aggies I’ve worked with over the years.

Not sure why you’re so down on our university.
It isn’t that bad
.
As for this medical school silliness ….
If removing a single photo is worthy enough (in the eyes of the school) of advertising their action in a press release and patting themselves on the back, I’d say things aren’t that bad.
Yet.
Texas A&M’s medical school is an afterthought.
No offense to any of its grads; it’s just not a major program.
It’s located far from campus, and rarely spoken of.
That’s not an insult— it’s reality.
Until/unless I read a story about it once every few years or so, I forget about it’s existence.
I’ve made it abundantly clear on this board how dysfunctional I believe higher education has become.
But this incident isn’t even a blip on my give-a-damn radar.

Wait, A&M has a med school?

It is an after thought, I didn’t even know A&M had one in ug. Yet everyone knows the vet school, which is interesting because the average A&M med student would easily get into a&ms vet school, but a vet student at A&M wouldn’t sniff the med school (stats for med school 3.85 gpa mcat 513 which is 85th percentile, vet school 3.65 gre 160 75th percentile, and the mcat is a much harder test coming from someone who took both). This is another example of poor leadership from A&M. You have a very difficult school to get into and no one knows it exists lol, also human medicine brings in much more than vet med. A&M sadly is a chronically mismanaged institution.
Edit: the A&M med grads I know are really good too

Absolutely agree.
It’s (med school) just a small program.
Funds overwhelming support various other colleges within the university.

The real story here is that if/when A&M sells out to the woke mob it is a sign of the end of times.
A&M is likely the most conservative administration of any sizable university system.

Gonna go out on a limb here and predict that the DEI score is inversely proportional to the board passage rate and quality of doctors, and proportional to the number of malpractice lawsuits.

So when A&M School Of Medicine goes woke, the whole wide world-- is now full WOKE.

Very likely, however this is more applicable to the residency level than med school
