If they were like every other state, they could get power from other areas. Texas chose not to be part of the national grid.
They privatized and profited bigly - for a while.
TX gambled by not investing and winterizing their equipment and they lost. They were warned this could happen and chose not to do it.
Now they want to blame everyone but themselves and want the federal government & taxpayers to bail them out.
Privatize the gains and socialize the losses. It's the same old story.

Only a fraction of the power comes from this. And it froze ONLY because they didnt winterize their equipment and they were warned that this would happen. Windmills dont freeze in ND, Scotland, Canada, etc.

All one needs to do is look at the DOE order, posted online in its entirety, to see this is fake news. People making up this crap are destroying this country with the help of those too lazy or too stupid to do simple fact checking before spreading it. How do we know this isn't being generated by our enemies.
If you look at the emergency order, on page 2 it clearly allows Texas to do whatever is needed to maintain sufficient generation capabilities. The Republicans in Texas created this fiasco and know relying on their all too stupid base to spread the fake reports blaming Biden. Wake up Sheep, we're being led to slaughter and you all are helping the murderers.

Texas grid buys power from other grids all the time. Couldn’t do it this time because other grids, including Mexico were using all they could make because of the storm.
