Since they are a militia, they have a right to bear arms, correct?

The article says the rancher has ignored several court orders.

I have news for you... if you fail to pay your mortgage or squat on somebody else's property the sheriff will see that you're evicted. Why is the rancher entitled to more favorable treatment?

Yup. i can remember as a kid I looked up to guys like those, including cops. There used to be a lot of respect and admiration for those people..now the common folk are slowly turning against them.

Cops and any other LEO are not popular figures right now. I know I despise most of them.

If you ignore a subpoena then yes a sheriff or deputy will show up with an arrest warrant. Perfectly fine.

Showing up with helicopters, 200 agents, and snipers is way over the top and uncalled for. This is the type of shite that starts a lot of problems.

Are those agents engaged in armed warfare against the rancher and his fellow protestors or rounding up cows? How many agents does it take to round up 900 cows? Are the helicopters shooting at ranchers or looking for cows? Is there a more efficient way of sighting grazing cattle than helicopters? Are you an expert?

I've had to round up cattle. Me and one other guy could round up 50-60 head with no problems. Even with an a-hole bull. So yes, it's a little too much.

Just like the Sheriff's department in my Parish when I was a kid.

It was an old guy that was the Sheriff and a few deputies.

Now it is the world's 5th largest standing Army.

What I see from the video and the article are ranchers who want to use public lands for free, in violation of law and several court orders.

Any "militias" that join in for a fight will deserve what they get.

You have no prob with the land in question being taken from him, after his family grazed cattle on it since the 1800's?

I'm not saying the rancher isn't in the wrong, but no reason to involve the FBI with an assault battalion. Seems like they're trying to create an issue.

We are a nation of laws, Rex.

Is this going to be the mantra for the left leading us down the road to tyranny?

Not saying that this incident is clear cut tyranny, but anyone that abides by the mantra that this is a nation of laws and is compliant with any dictate or law once a line is crossed ends up shackled by tyranny.

I am sorry you are myopic to obvious, nefarious trends.

"Taken from him" is rather insincere phrasing given that the land was never his.

Fed agencies under this administration have extremely poor PR skills. There's legitimate reasons to distrust the feds. Screw em.

Rex, let me clue you in....

Listen carefully.

A non boot licker looks at this and sees that the federal government will spend millions of dollars and commit hundreds of heavily armed agents over a dispute regarding fricking cows that are eating grass where the government thinks they shouldn't be eating grass.

A normal, hard working citizen goes "Damn, how easily could they jack me up for any reason they made up?"

Can you not grasp the larger picture and not understand why this is disturbing?

I guess I should expect no less. I've been trying to help you see the light for 9 years.

You shouldn't have been unbanned, IMHO.

I "shouldn't have been unbanned" because you can't stomach disagreement, even when you're apparently taking the side of someone breaking the law.

I wasn't banned, dipshit. And since you think I should be I'll assist you in avoiding the further hypocrisy of talking to me... you're on permanent ignore.

I generally have a low opinion of most LEOs. But, what what should be done? Should the rancher be allowed to continue to trespass?
