This has the potential to be the "shot heard round the world", depending on how the Feds handle it...

Better yet, what would it cost to move the Turtles instead of the cattle?
Untold $millions. Turtles are way too fast for a govt employee.

Agreed... And there will most def be video if something goes down.
Well there may not be depending on how ugly it gets.

get ready folks....this is gonna get ugly.
It appears these ranchers have drawn a line in the sand, and unlike Obozo they intend to to enforce it.

Small addition. Waco under a republican would have been murder. Waco under Clinton was justified.

I don't give a shite being a Republican or Democrat in power... This is yet another example of the increased militarization of our government against its citizens. Its occurring at both local and federal levels.

I've not seen any updates. Anything new?
Last I read, the Feds had taken 350 of the cattle.

Maybe Holder can get the turtles some guns? That would help even the score.

But then they may go into a turtle school with an assault weapon and kill people

Under what right are they seizing his private property?

The govt was going to euthanize hundreds of these tortoises last year.
quote:
When plans to euthanize these animals were made public, there was a huge backlash, and the BLM decided against killing the tortoises, and instead released them into the wild.
Hooray for the govt. Glad to know they've got their shite together.

BLM site

Allowing individuals to continue illegal trespass grazing on federal lands is a matter of fairness to thousands of ranchers whose livestock graze in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations throughout the west.
Impoundments of livestock are done only as a last resort. In this case, the BLM and the National Park Service (NPS) have made repeated attempts to resolve the matter with Mr. Bundy administratively and judicially for over 20 years. Mr. Bundy has also failed to comply with multiple court orders to remove his cattle from the federal lands and to end the illegal trespass.
The BLM and NPS are working closely with local, state and federal officials to ensure the impoundment occurs safely and in a transparent and orderly manner, and with limited disruption to other users and visitors who enjoy our nation’s public lands.

Stetsy Bundy Cox, Cliven’s daughter, told the Washington Free Beacon that some of the rangers had Oregon and California license plates.
“You know, some of these guys don’t even know why they’re here,” she said. “A few people have talked to them and they got called in here on an emergency feed and they didn’t know what it was for, it just said they had to be here.”
“They’re almost like a hired gun,” Cox said. “Because what they’re supposed to do is they each have a road, and are told to stay on that road, and they’re supposed to keep people off that road, whatever means possible. That’s their job. They don’t even know how many cows have been gathered.”

I'd argue he doesnt see it as an illegal trespass.
Yet another fed court ruling in the fed favor for whatever they want.
disgusting.

If enough people get involved, this could grow much bigger...

Things that make you go HMMMM. Bundy's property is around Whiskey Pete's, familiar to those who've driven I-15 north to Vegas. It's real estate just over the Clarke Co line.
Could the pederast Harry Reid have anything to do with this? I have a source that says so.
