Good grief. Don’t you ever get tired of being wrong in this one topic?

Trade imbalances are a sign of increasing wealth
If your job cost more money by government intervention to create than it is a benefit to the consumer, it is a net negative to capital resources.
It's an economic destroyer, not creator.

I haven’t been wrong yet except when I predicted Trump was coming to his senses and the trade war would soon be over.

If I could short the index today I would. It is going to open down in a huge way unless he tweets some retraction.
The general attitude was this deal was done and now it is obvious it is not.
If he puts the 25% on and expands the list to include real finished goods (these have been spared tariffs for the most part) it will cost him the election.

Wait, what? Weren’t you the poster who has predicted immediate doom since the day the tariffs were announced? Are you using Bernie as a financial advisor because you two are the only ones who can’t see how successful this has been for the economy.

maybe you should get some clarity on his actual position before deciding on what his position has been on your own

probably wasn't even close, despite the repeated delays he already granted

i don't know about all that though

These tariffs have added NOTHING to the economy.
I was the one that pointed out the huge reserve currencies the Chinese have giving them a tool to fight any tariffs.
I guarantee you Boeing’s arse is tight right now and they are ringing Ross’s phone.
It would help Trump if he could actually deliver a trade deal—he has not. I suspect that 2 trillion in spending he announced with Pelosi is a tool he is trying to use to bribe the dems to pass USMCA.
Doesn’t take a lot of negotiation skill to buy votes.

They will be much more apparent at retail. Finished electronics for example have not been tariffed yet.
This will cause importing manufacturers and distributors to scream across the country.

he was still holding off on that one per the tweet
pretty sure he was just talking about going to 25 on the stuff that's at 10 now
but yeah, that one would be more directly noticeable, although i think china would actually bear some of the incidence of the tariffs on that retail-heavy stuff. (i assume you saw the report where they estimated posthoc that the entire brunt of the ones so far have been borne by us consumers, not us producers, and not foreign producers. exactly contrary to what trump's saying here, but of course that's no surprise)

2–1 this trade war ends quickly if China cancels their Boeing orders.

I don't see it lasting long. No way China can let the jobs shift to India and other low cost labor countries. They will never get it back.

No way Boeing losses a order is the more appropriate argument.
