I have always despised how some people in this country have always said that America was somehow made great because of immigration, when the real truth of the matter is, America was always great from it’s foundation as a country, and not because of the inhabitants, but because of the principles upon which this country was founded upon, the common shared cultural values that were in place because of those beliefs already here, and so immigrants who landed here to escape failed ideals and left those failed ideals in Europe or elsewhere, and embraced the American ideals became prosperous and added to this country because of it, not by bringing their failed beliefs and ideals with them.

The melting pot only works when the parts being added melt into the pot, not ruin the pot with the failed mentalities it left behind when it moved here. I’d say the same for any immigrant immigrating to any country.

The Swedes have become a meme.
