And we certainly do not allow gas to be used in the same theater where our troops are fighting for your freedom.
This is an important part of all this for me. Not only are we showing strength for the first time in 8 years, we are protecting Americans that are already over there. We can't just abandon them.
On another note, it's amazing how short sighted some people are on this issue. Instead of jumping the gun, why not wait to see how things play out? People often forget that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

Furthermore, I'd venture to say the reason we don't need to fight for our freedom anymore is because we "maintain" it via military strength and being a leader on the world stage (which was absent in the Obama years). Whoever threatens our freedom should be taken down BEFORE they are able to truly threaten it.

Indeed. Calling America a fascist country does reflect the sad times we live in. I have no problem with expressing a difference in opinion when it comes to foreign policy. Mocking & calling America fascist is a different story. Comparing POTUS Donald Trump to Herman Goring et al has nothing to do with a difference of opinion. That is ridiculous.

I actually think Trump does care and thinks he can be the savior to everyone. He just doesn't realize that it's not really up to him. Politics and global capitalism is the true deciding factor

To many people today have bought the leftest hype that the US is what is wrong in the world. I am here to say if you believe that, you are an idiot.
You've got a bad case of, "America! frick Yeah," and you have an overinflated sense of our place in the world. We are the World's Police when there's money to be made and acting unilaterally shouldn't ever be our goal or something we take lightly. We aren't what's wrong with the World but our sense of fair play and social conscience makes us particularly susceptible to propaganda from our own Government. This whole action against Syria stinks to high heaven. Damn near every President facing terrible numbers or scandals has pulled this because it works. It takes advantage of our inherent national pride and unites because there's a common goal for the Nation and that's to rid the world of another tyrant. We didn't try to hurt Syria, we sent a fiery false flag that got people like you hard. So he warned Russia, who moved their shite out of the way at, "a base that the chemical weapons came from." If Russia was there and that is true, was Russia also complicit in this chemical weapons attack?
quote:
As the lone superpower we have the responsibility to keep idiots in line
Are you serious in thinking we are the lone superpower? Mutually assured destruction aside, do you think we wouldn't have our hands completely full in a fight with Russia, China, Japan, Germany, or even maybe Saudi Arabia?

I am pretty sure there would be no modern Europe except for the blanket of protection we have provided them for the past 117 years. They would all be Nazi or Soviets if not for the US.
I'm still not sure I agree with the attack on Syria, if things don't escalate, it's probably a moderately large win.
But the above statement is true, Europe would have been Soviet without the protection of the US and U.K.
117 years ago the US was a minor regional power with zero ability to project power you numbskull, we did not become a "superpower" until after WW2. and that was more to do with every other major power being decimated by the war.
Stop trying to re-write history

i'm partial to it and all, as it directly lead to my wife's family, and subsequently my wife being here (born in 1982), it wasn't needed...
we entered Vietnam to try to contain communism, as we didn't feel we had the upper hand on the whole cold war thing, so our answer was to fight a communist country in conflict... thing is, we didn't exactly do all that well, ended up having to take our lumps, leave without achieving our ultimate goal, and yet we STILL are free, despite not eradicating communism even from little ol' Vietnam... so yeah, totally avoidable and unnecessary, and looking at it, no threat to our domestic freedom....

All these neocons should be shipped to fight Isis. They're worse than liberals.

so Trump doing EXACTLY that, by not passing this by Congress, that's cool, right? i mean, that's not jumping the gun, by your estimation?

Trump can exercise his authority to strike without congressional approval for 90 days. Why would he run anything by the most unreliable least respected group of inbreds on the planet? Congress is a joke. If he needs congressional approval he will let them know.
