Was Brietbart media acting like an opposition party when Obama was in office? Or were they doing their job properly? Either way you answer this, Steve Bannon is being hypocritical.

No one gives a frick if Slate or Huffpo is biased.

But obstinately "professional" journalism organizations like the NYT and CNN are just exactly as Bannon described: the opposition party.

Yeah, this is nothing but good for Trump and Bannon.

wow.

Wow what?

You disagree that the press is terrible at its job? If so, why?

Thank Gawd Harrison Ford and dozens more made it out alive. No telling what would happen to the U.S of A. if the threats weren't thwarted.

HOW THE frick DO THEY KNOW IT'S FALSE?! BECAUSE THEY SAY SO?!

Could have just printed "the president’s claims". But noooooooo, had to throw that "false" in there.

Typical liberal lies in an article.

I agree it's absurd to categorically say Trump's claims are false. It's editorializing under the guise of news.

Of course, it's equally absurd for Trump to throw out unsubstantiated figures. I know why he's doing it, but that doesn't make it any less absurd.

It's almost as if the NY times doesn't realize they are the media.

quote:

The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”

Case in point

quote:

ith skirmishes over the size of Mr. Trump’s inaugural crowd and the president’s false claims that millions of illegal votes by undocumented immigrants swayed the popular vote against him.

quote:

During a call to discuss Sean M. Spicer, the president’s press secretary, Mr. Bannon ratcheted up the criticism, offering a broad indictment of the news media as biased against Mr. Trump and out of touch with the American public. That’s an argument familiar to readers of Breitbart and followers of Trump-friendly personalities like Sean Hannity.

quote:

, who has been criticized this week for making false claims at the White House podium about the attendance of Mr. Trump’s inaugural crowd; for calling reporters dishonest and lecturing them about what stories to write; and for failing to disavow Mr. Trump’s lie about widespread voter fraud in the election.

The Democrats will never win another election again, as long the media is doing what media does.

A lesson in why you shouldn't act better than anyone else in life, especially when there are more of them than there are of you.

Folks of all voting backgrounds are now enjoying watching the media fail...maybe the blowback wouldn't have been so harsh if they were more humble in the beginning and treated the common folk with respect?

The rights obsession with the media is one thing, but when you're actually the President of the United States or one of his close advisors is it too much to ask that you focus more on running the country than whining about the media literally every day or every other day? You have plenty of right wing media who spent most of their time on this as it is.

I honestly don't know where y'all get the idea that the "MSM" as you say are arrogant or act like they are better than anyone else.

And that thing is trying to get roughly fair coverage, but if not that, at least calling the media out.

Why? If the media is the opposition, it would be unilateral disarmament to back off.

And it hasn't seemed to slow Trump down at all yet.
