As a point of information, the five points now is a park overrun with Chinese mahjong players,

Get ready, that sack of shite malcolm suber was on the news last night saying now their goal is to replace Jackson Square with tubman square. You give these pricks an inch.......

Worse. It will be Jessie Jackson Square.

Statements like this make me wonder whether you really live in NYC.

When you are as low as they are on the totem pole, these feel like actual victories to them.

Do you think that "Confederate pride" has nothing to do with race?
Those motives on either side of the argument miss the point. We are propping up symbols of treason.

They might get Lee, but ole Stonewall will remain.

I do the same... There's a number of courthouses around the corner that I happen to walk by fairly often. It's not a great neighborhood.

You were trying to play some game where you changing your opinion was the object of the game, and I just didn't care for it for the same reason I don't care to have sex with a man.
I'm not trying to play any games. I will always be pissed when my tax dollars are wasted on things that don't improve anything for the city and its citizens. Please show specifically where my opinion has changed on this subject. You're shocked that people are pissed that the Mayor has decided to spend their money moving rocks, which is very confusing.

I guess so. The founding father propped up symbols of treason too.

But they won and founded a new country on that victory. If the Confederates had won naturally we wouldnt be having this conversation.
For that matter, i dont think England spends too much time honoring those revolutionaries...

So it's not about whether they were right or wrong?

I dig historical juxtaposition. Oh well.

I didn't say they had no statues.

Right and wrong is a philosophical debate. Clearly, a lot of white guys in the south have a very different notion of right and wrong in thos case as compared to the rest of the country.
