If you like corruption then he is your candidate!!

You are making very serious charges without a shred of support much less Evidence. I’m pretty confident that if such allegations were even remotely possible much less true I would have heard of it by now.

McMath- he actually knocks on doors and isn't a career politician.

He's absolutely not running on his family name. He is actually knocking on doors and asking voters for their support (unlike his geriatric opponent). And I guess if what you mean by "no show job" is owning and operating three businesses, then you need to reevaluate your definition.

I don’t want anyone running for office knocking on my door. That alone would be enough to turn me off of them.

That said, I have no idea who to vote for in these races.

Do your homework! There is no bigger self-serving politician than Falconer! The only bills he authored and got passed benefited architects (and in the process hurt engineers)! All you hear the two R gubernatorial candidates talk about is bringing back jobs; last time I checked homebuilders and developers actually create jobs!

Sad to say that Brister is probably going to win. Tranchina all the way!

Falconer has missed almost 600 votes! He's more interested in helping out architects (his profession) than the Northshore. The only thing he has been consistent on is helping himself.

Falconer: self-serving politician
McMath: on his second term as council president. Yes it's ambitious, but the caliber of elected officials we keep sending to BR isn't cutting it! It's time for someone new who is young, an outsider, and wants to get something done!

Falconer missed 600 votes in the State House! McMath is the right guy- he knocked on doors in my neighborhood and sent me a handwritten note!

Yea, and before that he was on Parish council, where he was just as ineffective. I can't overlook 600 missed votes; McMath has my family's votes.

Are you sure he missed over 600 votes?

You don't want candidates knocking on your door. I do, and think that's the best way to ask for a vote. We just disagree on approach. If you don't want to talk to them personally, then do your homework on the candidates. A good starting point is: Falconer missed 600 votes while he was in the legislature; McMath is an outsider that is for a Constitutional convention so we can fix our tax structure.

My dogs go crazy when someone knocks on the door. My close neighbors simply text and say they’re headed over, so as not to listen to the dogs.

Missed over 600 votes? How come this isn’t being relayed to the voters?

First of all, I’ve known McMath for 30+ years. Does that make be biased, absolutely; but it also makes me very knowledgeable of his character, family, and work ethic. I would like to respond to your supposition that his has a no show job: I remember summers when we were 14,15, & 16 cleaning up job sites, installing toilets, hauling trash, laying sod, digging holes by hand, hauling whole sheets of 5/8 Sheetrock up 3 flights of stairs... I could go on, but Patrick was helping fill that trash bin, or sweeping the other side of the room, and on the other end of that heavy a$$ piece of Sheetrock. Did he have to be there? NO! But he was and he learned a business from the ground up. Most people reading this can’t say they’ve done half of those crappy jobs ever, much less in one summer.

Second. The McMath family would give you the shirt off their backs without you having to ask. They would give you anything and never expect you to say “how much do I owe you”. This family that you think is aloof because they are wealthy (based on what facts I have no idea), have given much to their neighbors and strangers alike without ever expecting as much as a thank you. This is something that was instilled in Patrick, and if you walked up to him tomorrow he would treat you as if he’s been your friend for life.

Lastly, but equally as important, character: Patrick is not looking for money or power, he is looking to legitimately help the people of the Northshore; and for no other reason than no one else is getting it done correctly. We are always asking for the politician that isn’t a politician and will have your’s and my interest in mind every time he votes or takes action in his role. Patrick doesn’t have anything personal at stake here, he isn’t doing this to make money. He is running for office, having his good name tarnished by people who have heard rumor or have heard nothing (just that his parents are successful) and treat him like he is dirt. When you wake up tomorrow morning, look in the mirror and ask yourself if you would want to walk out the door with people trashing you for no other reason than “he is running on his family (business) name”

Well you ought to pass along to him that he should take up the cause for more responsible development and flood mitigation.
