That told me Italy is doing so bad because their health care system leaves a lot to be desired, they have a large number of old people (which we know) and the other EU member countries refuse to bail them out as they've bailed them out many times previously. I was also told the EU countries feel the same about Greece as well.

Italy has always been a massive CF when it comes to any organizational function since WWII... they can barely keep the government functional from year to year. Kind of sad when you hit your high point as a civilization 1800 years ago.

I'd imagine their feelings towards Greece will change as they continue to be the only thing stopping another 1-2 million refugees from streaming into western Europe.

The rhetoric coming from Brussels re: the refugee issue in 2015 versus now is amazing.

I've also heard that many Chinese from the Wuhan area work in textiles (Italian fashion industry) I the Milan area, which made it the epicenter within Italy.

I wonder if the Chinese textile industry will benefit from Italy's being largely wiped out.
